Can I Set an Employee to Punch in and out Automatically?

This article relates to Classic.

If you have one or more employees who should not manually punch their hours, but should have timepunches created automatically based on the start- and end-time of the shift, you can easily do this by using the timepunch method Deviation reporting.

Follow these steps to do this:

  • Go to Staff, Agreement / Availability
  • Open the employee's agreement
  • Go to the Time tab
  • Uncheck "Use agreement template"
  • In the "Type of time reporting" drop-down list, select "Deviation Reporting"
  • Save

Now, time punches will automatically be generated to the scheduled shifts.

To make this setting for all connected to a contract template, do the following:

  • Go to Time,  Agreement templates
  • Open the agreement template you want to make this change for
  • Go to the Time tab
  • In the "Type of time reporting" drop-down list, select "Deviation Reporting"
  • Save

Now, time punches will automatically be generated for employees associated with this agreement template.
