New functionality
Change the number of weeks in your Base Schedule templates
Until now, once a base schedule template was created, its number of weeks was locked in. If your business needs changed, the only option was to rebuild the whole template from scratch, even for a small adjustment.
That's no longer the case. You can now change the number of weeks on templates that haven't been rolled out yet, and set a new week count whenever you copy a template. Adjusting a Base Schedule to match how your business actually runs is now a quick configuration change, not a rebuild.
See the week count at a glance, in a redesigned overview
The Base Schedule overview now shows the number of weeks for each template in its own "Weeks" column, so you can see your rotation lengths at a glance and confirm you're editing the right one, without opening each template to check.
This column comes with a broader update: the base schedule table has been rebuilt using Quinyx's updated design system. This is the start of a wider rollout, and you can expect to see similar updates introduced in other parts of Quinyx over time.
Alongside the new Weeks column, you'll notice a few other changes to the overview:
- Start date and end date now show as their own columns
- Every column can be sorted
- A new "Archive shown" toggle lets you show or hide archived templates in the list
- The action icons at the end of each row have also been updated to edit, copy, and a menu for the remaining options, replacing the previous set of icons.
Extend or shorten the weeks in a draft template
If a template hasn't been rolled out yet in the base schedule, you can now edit its week count directly from the edit (pencil) icon, without losing the work you've already put into the template.
Extending a template: increase the number of weeks and the new weeks are added at the end of the existing ones. For example, a 4-week template extended to 6 weeks keeps its original 4 weeks untouched, with 2 new weeks added after them.
Shortening a template: decrease the number of weeks and the extra weeks are removed from the end, along with any shifts already scheduled in them. Because this deletes data, you'll see a warning before you confirm: "Reducing the number of weeks will remove weeks from the end of the schedule and permanently delete any shifts scheduled in them." For example, a 6-week template shortened to 4 weeks removes the last 2 weeks and any shifts in them.
You can change the week count anywhere from 1 to 24 weeks.
Set a new week count when copying a template, including rolled-out ones
Using an existing template as your starting point for your base schedule? When you duplicate it, you can now choose a different number of weeks for the copy, right there in the copy flow, with the original week count pre-filled as the default. That means you can reuse a template you already like, even when the new rotation needs to be a different length, with no manual rebuild required. The same extend and shorten rules described above apply here, including the warning if shortening removes existing shifts, and the copy is always created as a new draft template, so your original is never affected.
If your starting point is a template that's already been rolled out, use copy to change its week count.
To protect your rotation history, you still can't edit the week count directly on a rolled-out template: each employee's roll-out is tied to a specific week and day (for example, "Week 2, Wednesday"), which drives the "Continue rotation from previous roll-out" option, and changing the week count in place could break that continuity. So if you try to edit the week count directly on a rolled-out template, you'll see this message instead:
"The number of weeks cannot be changed after a template has been rolled out. To use a different week count, make a copy of this template."
Follow that instruction: make a copy of the rolled-out template and set the new week count during the copy step. You'll end up with a new draft template that has the week count you need, based on the one you already have, without touching the rotation history of the original.

Automate adhering to Swedish overtime limits
The compliance rule Overtime limit can't be exceeded counts the additional time and overtime hours an employee accrues over a configured period, and flags a violation when the total goes past the configured limit.
Why this rule?
Overtime is capped by law or collective agreement in most of our markets, and breaching a cap carries real fines. Until now, that exposure only surfaced downstream in payroll. The rule moves the warning to the point of scheduling, where a manager can still act on it.
Configuration and enablement
- Configured at Schedule compliance > Rule set > Overtime limit can't be exceeded.
- Two settings: Salary types (only additional-time and overtime types are selectable โ no other salary types appear in the dropdown) and Period (Monthly or Yearly, both full calendar periods).
- Threshold: Amount of hours to limit.
