Advanced scenarios

Updated by Leigh Hutchens

Below you can find examples of how the absence request notification logic will work in more complex role management configuration cases in Quinyx.

Scenario 1

Criteria
  • An employee has a direct employee role on the section of the home unit, but no direct role on the home unit.
  • A manager without absence permission has a manager role on section, role level 5.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on unit, role level 4.
Result

The notification will go to the manager on the unit (referred to in the image below as "M lvl4" - manager, level 4), as the manager on the section doesn't have write permission on absences.

Scenario 2

Criteria
  • An employee has a direct employee role on the section of the home unit AND a direct role on the home unit.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on section, role level 5.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on unit, role level 4.
Result

The notification will go to the manager on the section (referred to in the image below as "M lvl5" - manager, level 5).

Note that in the picture above, the green color indicates that the individual with multiple roles is the same person.

Scenario 3

Criteria
  • A person has employee role on home unit and manager role on another unit, role level 4.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on employees home unit, role level 4.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on district, role level 3.
Result

The notification will go to the manager on the employee's home unit (referred to in the image below as "M lvl4" - manager, level 4), as it's the manager closest the employee in the home unit tree.

Note that the manager, level 4 on the other unit is not part of the home unit tree.
Note that in the picture above, the green color indicates that the individual with multiple roles is the same person.

Scenario 4

Criteria
  • A person has employee role on home unit and employee role on customer level.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on employees home unit, role level 4.
  • A manager with absence permission has a manager role on customer level, role level 2.

Result

The notification will go to the manager on the employee's home unit (referred to in the image below as "M lvl4" - manager, level 4), as it's the manager closest to the employee in the home unit tree.

Note that in the picture above, the green color indicates that the individual with multiple roles is the same person.
