Generate overtime on absence day setting
- Case 1 - When working one week when scheduled overtime
- Case 2 - When sick one week when scheduled overtime
- Case 3 - When working both weeks and the payroll period (the first week) is locked on Sunday week one
- Case 4 - When working in the first week and being sick in the second week, and the period is locked until Sunday in the first week (due to the payroll period)
When Generate overtime on absence day settings on the Absence settings page is checked, the following logic for OT on absence days will be applied: If overtime falls on an absence day, Quinyx will generate minus transactions for ordinary salaries to compensate hours of generated OT salary. Here are some examples:
Case 1 - When working one week when scheduled overtime
- Given: The employee is 100% employed hourly, the overtime method is period, the period is 7 days, the hours for full-time is 40 per 7 days (5 working days).
- When: The employee is scheduled 41 hours for that week, and the employee punches 41 hours.
- Then: The salary types generated for the employee are 40 hourly salary and 1 hour OT.
Case 2 - When sick one week when scheduled overtime
- Given: The employee is 100% employed hourly, the overtime method is period, the period is 7 days, and the hours for full-time is 40 per 7 days (5 working days).
- When: The employee is scheduled 41 hours for that week, and the employee is sick all week.
- Then: The salary types generated for the employee are 41 sickness hourly, -1 hourly salary type, and 1 hour OT.
Case 3 - When working both weeks and the payroll period (the first week) is locked on Sunday week one
- Given: The employee is 100% employed hourly, the overtime method is period, the period is 14 days, and the hours for full-time is 40 per 7 days (5 working days).
- When: The employee is scheduled for 80 hours for both weeks, and the employee's punched hours are 81.
- Then: Salary types generated for the employee are 80 hourly salary and 1 hour OT.
Case 4 - When working in the first week and being sick in the second week, and the period is locked until Sunday in the first week (due to the payroll period)
- Given: The employee is 100% employed hourly, the overtime method is period, the period is 14 days, and hours for full-time is 40 per 7 days (5 working days).
- When: The employee is scheduled for 80 hours for both weeks, and employee punch hours are 41 hours and absence hours 40 hours.
- Then: Salary types generated for the employee are 40 hourly salary, 40 sickness, and 1 hour OT.
If settings “Generate overtime on absence day” aren't set for Case 4, the outcome would not have overtime.
