Important announcements

Updated release schedule for version 0210

Due to upcoming public holidays and wanting to further ensure smoothness and stability in the deployment process, we are adjusting our release schedule for version 0210. The new release date is May 6th.

Please note that this edition of the release notes will be updated with more release-related information as the release date approaches. Stay tuned!

Renaming Frontline Portal to Employee Hub

We are renaming Frontline Portal to Employee Hub, a name that better reflects its role as a central space for tasks, content, and communications. We will also complete the rollout of our fresh, modernized user interface. This interface is designed to improve usability while maintaining all the features you know and rely on.

What’s Changing?

  • A new name: The transition to Employee Hub aligns with how many customers already refer to the platform as their go-to place for workforce engagement.
  • An enhanced look and feel: We’ve rolled out a new design with updates to navigation, dashboards, and views that make it easier to find what you need. Please find further information on phase 4 of the redesign in this release note.

What You Need to Know

  • The name change will appear on the platform and across our website. Please note - changes to the website will happen on the 14th of April.
  • Our standalone mobile app will now appear as "Quinyx Employee Hub" in the app stores. The new name is already live in the Google Play Store and is coming soon in the Apple App Store.
  • You don’t need to take any action—your access, data, and workflows will remain the same.
  • Employee Hub, like Frontline Portal, still contains the same functionality, namely Tasks, Stories, Files & Folders, Forms, Events and Links
  • There will be no immediate change to URLs - work to update URLs will be done in the future, and we will be sure to give ample warning of any upcoming changes.
  • Employee Hub will remain in English for all languages, i.e., it will not be translated, with the exception of German.

Adding Gainsight to Quinyx

We are adding a product analytics tool, Gainsight, to Quinyx. This tool helps us in our development of Quinyx by identifying pain points for our users and also gives us the possibility to gather feedback from our users. This tool is only implemented in the web app.

New functionality requiring configuration updates

Mobile: Enhanced Multifactor Authentication Setup Flow

With our latest mobile version 3.44 release last week, users in a tenant that has setup and use Multifactor Authentication can now add their mobile phone number directly during the multifactor authentication (MFA) process. This enhancement ensures that users without a phone number saved in their employee card can still complete MFA by setting their number after entering their email and password, similar to the experience on Quinyx.

Please note: Mobile numbers must be entered in the E.164 international format, which includes the country code and excludes any spaces or special characters. E. 164 numbers can have a maximum of 15 digits and are usually written as follows: [+][country code][subscriber number including area code].

Example: +46705444444

Updates and performance improvements

Starting May 5th, Schedule Validation (2.0) Beta Will Be Enabled by Default

From the 5th of May and onwards, each roll out of new Schedule Validation (2.0) Beta will be turned on by default. Users will still be able to turn it off in the account settings.

The roll out plan can be found in release version 0208.
Punch properties inheritance logic improvements for task shifts

Until release 0210, after an update to the cost center, agreement, and/or project of a shift, all punches connected to that main shift and task would inherit the main shift properties only. This would mean that after an update to the shift type of a task, only the task shift type would be updated, and none of its connected punches would pick up the properties change. Thus, the properties of the punch(es) remain the same as the main shift.

We have now adjusted the functionality so that when the agreement, cost center and/or project are updated, changed on the task shift, connected punches will inherit the new update properties.

Here is a summary of the scope of this improvement:

  1. If I update the main shift type or properties, only the punch connected to the main shift will be updated
  2. If I update the sub-shift (task) shift type or properties, only the punch connected with the sub-shift will be updated. The main shift punch will remain unchanged
  3. If I delete the task and keep the punch, the punch will be reconnected to the main shift and inherit the main shift properties as stated in case 1.
Important note: This improvement is only applicable to tasks updated in the Manager portal or Timecard. Using the Account settings > Shift types > Update shifts option is excluded from this improvement.

Bug fixes

  • Resolved an issue with the time selector not being clickable in Safari when creating a shift.

Employee Hub web app Version 0210

Release date May 6, 2025

New functionality

Possibility to prevent users from downloading content in the Employee Hub

In this version, we have implemented a new permission called ‘Download content’ that is available in “role management” and “Mobile and staff portal permissions”. This new permission can be turned on/off, which then restricts the possibility of downloading any content from any resource in the Employee Hub. The permission will be turned on by default, meaning users can work with this function the same way they can today.

ON/Permission (as it used to work historically):

  • All users able to download content, per existing behaviour

Off/Permission:

  • Recipients are not able to download content from any resource in the Employee Hub (Stories, Tasks, Forms, Files).
    • Attachments: ‘Download’ and ‘Download selected’ context menu options hidden
      • On story, task, file & form details view page i.e. when you open the resource to view it and files are listed in the ‘attachments' section.
      • On file view page i.e. when you open an attached file to view it

Important to note:

  • We will not restrict any browser options to download content, such as “print screen” or right-click on the picture you preview and download it through the browser.
  • If you have users who have a manager role under "Role management", you need to disable the "enable download" permission for the user in all their roles under "Role management" and their staff category under "mobile and staff portal permissions" to prevent the user from downloading content. For users without a manager role, the logic only looks at their staff category under "mobile and staff portal permissions".

Updates and performance improvements

None at this time.

Bug fixes

  • Resolved an issue that caused users to lose access to all folders and files in the Employee Hub.

SOAP API / Web service updates

This is an early announcement that with Version 0211, we will introduce new fields in our SOAP Web Services; specifically, new fields will be added to wsdlUpdateAgreementsV2. These changes are being made in order to enable you to configure different Nominal hours setup using SOAP Web Services. More details will be shared closer to the release date.

We encourage all of our customers to make use of our APIs to maintain data and to make sure that information is up-to-date. To ensure the scalability of our APIs while growing our customer and user base, we've decided to add restrictions on the usage of our SOAP APIs. These restrictions will be enforced programmatically, which means we will enforce a limit on concurrent calls per customer to 10. You should expect response code 429 if you happen to exceed this limit, and you are recommended to implement a backoff retry mechanism to handle the limit. Note that the limit applies to SOAP only. When moving from SOAP to REST over the coming years, any limits will be built into the API.

Please make sure to forward this information to the party within your company responsible for integrations.
