Update! Notice of Interest functionality
After careful consideration, and recognizing that the approaching end of the year and holiday season posed challenges for our customers to meet the initial timeline, we have chosen not to proceed with the previously communicated plan to end the Notice of Interest (NOI) functionality in December 2023.
Instead, we have decided to extend the end-of-life date for NOI to the end of Q1 2024, specifically until March 31, 2024.
During this extended period, we encourage all our customers to transition to using the Availability functionality. Availability is a more user-friendly feature that caters to a broader range of use cases compared to Notice of Interest. Some noteworthy capabilities of the Availability functionality include the ability to convert an availability item into a shift in the Schedule view of the Quinyx web app. Additionally, Quinyx supports sections with availability and multi-selection of both units and sections when creating availability as a user. Users can see, create, edit, and delete their own availability hours using our mobile apps.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transition period. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team.
End of life of the Classic and mobile SSO by March 31, 2024
Quinyx has decided that the support for the old SSO configuration (Classic and Mobile) will be removed during 2024.
New configurations are already available in the Manager Portal, and you'll now only need one configuration for all Quinyx applications. We recommend that customers still using the old configuration start planning to set up the new configuration.
The new configuration provider setup supports either SAML 2 or OPEN ID standards.

- Azure: SAML single sign on and OPEN ID single sign on
Quinyx web app Version 0178

New functionality
Automatic Effect Calculation
In this release, we are introducing Automatic Effect Calculation. By using Automatic Effect Calculation, you are able to leverage the Quinyx Demand Forecasting algorithm to predict the effect of your future events based on historical events and their impact on your demand drivers. For example, we can calculate your Christmas Day sales levels based on previous Christmas Days tagged in the system. You no longer have to struggle with large amount of historical data yourself to prepare for holiday season but Automatic Effect Calculation can do this quick and accurately. To use this feature you need to have purchased the Quinyx AI Demand Forecasting module, as well as the Forecast module to use the Events in Quinyx.
Data host region selector - login dialogue
As Quinyx strives to remove complexity and improve the scalability of our product, we introduce a selection of data hosting regions to our login for the web apps. The data host region is where the application is hosted in terms of data and privacy regulations for your company. The value will be pre-filled with a best guess for where the user is heading based on the IP-address of the user. Once a successful login is made, a cookie will be set, remembering the last choice in that browser. The guess is based on IP-address, and if you are working from another continent, you might need to select the correct target area manually.
Multifactor authentication - MFA
Quinyx now offers a solution for an extra layer of authentication security by offering Multifactor authentication (MFA) via SMS/Text messages to the employee's registered phone number.
The MFA provider is an optional authentication method that can be activated to enforce a stronger authentication by requiring a second authentication based on a randomized 6-digit code sent to the user's mobile phone as a text message or to the user's email. The authentication code has a limited lifetime, and if the user fails 5 times to provide the correct authentication code, the account will be locked.
Updates and performance improvements
Audit log table headings now display at all times
Before this release, in the current audit logs, the headings of the table displaying your search results would disappear as you scrolled through your results. As a result of feedback on this topic, we’ve now “frozen” the heading row so it’s visible at all times, to improve your ability to navigate your search results.
Visualization of shift comments
With this release we are changing the way how shift comments are visualized in the Schedule view. Based on the feedback we have received from you (thank you for that!), now, in addition to the comment icon which was added for consistency reasons, we are showing the actual comment on the shift as well. The comment icon has also been repositioned in an attempt to improve the visibility of shift start and end times in certain views, such as the monthly view.
Example:
At this time, we’re not planning further changes to the shift comment functionality.
Bug fixes
- Resolved an issue that produced a validation message that nominal hours were exceeded when they were not.
- Resolved an issue that caused hourly Time Trackers to generate a message that the balance had been exceeded prematurely.
- Resolved an issue when filtering for punches missing approval, causing past punches with no approval not to be displayed in the schedule.
- Resolved the following issue: Within the tags follow up, previously, the scheduled hours counted the period intervals inclusively, meaning if the selected interval was from 5 September - 4 October it includes the interval from September 4-5 also within the September month. This caused the wrong values to be calculated. We added a check to exclusively calculate the period in order to avoid double counting, Sept 4-5 should not be counted for, since September 4 should be counted for interval Aug 5 - Sept 4.

SOAP API / Webservice updates
- None at this time.
- No endpoints are currently deprecated and planned for removal.Click here to view the new Quinyx WFM Web Service documentation. You can find even more web services info here.We encourage all of our customers to make use of our APIs to maintain data and to make sure that information is up-to-date. To ensure the scalability of our APIs while growing our customer and user base, we've decided to add restrictions on the usage of our SOAP APIs. These restrictions will be enforced programmatically, which means we will enforce a limit on concurrent calls per customer to 10. You should expect response code 429 if you happen to exceed this limit, and you are recommended to implement a backoff retry mechanism to handle the limit. Note that the limit applies to SOAP only. When moving from SOAP to Rest over the coming years, any limits will be built into the API.
Please make sure to forward this information to the party within your company responsible for integrations.
