New functionality

Make smarter staffing decisions with our new Business view

We’re excited to introduce the Business view, a powerful upgrade designed to give managers deeper visibility and control over team schedules.

What's new

  • Multi-criteria scheduling: Seamlessly organize and view employee schedules by shift type to match your business structure.
  • Deeper insights at a glance: Compare schedules across groups of shifts to identify gaps, reduce inefficiencies, and align staffing with strategic goals.
  • Enhanced decision-making tools: Go beyond basic filters with advanced viewing options that help assess group performance and make smarter, data-informed decisions.
  • Optimized staffing levels: Avoid overstaffing or understaffing by ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time.

This release is part of our ongoing commitment to help you streamline operations, improve workforce planning, and drive better business outcomes.

How to find the new view

You can easily access the new Business view via the Display options panel, where you can switch between Employee view and Business view. In the new Business view, schedules are organized by shift type, giving you a better understanding of your shift coverage.

Key functionalities

  • Collapsible shift type groups: Shift types on the left-hand side are now collapsible for a cleaner view.
  • Shift item information: Each shift item provides key details, including shift times, hours, assignee, section, and any added comments.
  • New KPI – Assigned shifts: A new KPI is introduced to show the number of assigned shifts in each shift group. This helps you quickly assess coverage and identify any potential gaps.
  • Accessible on multiple views: Business view is available on daily, weekly, monthly, or custom views.
Business view will not be available at the district level, but you can still see the data on the unit or section level.

Interactions with the view

You can interact with the Business view just like the Employee view using:

  • Drag-and-drop shifts
  • Use regular replanning tools to ensure your staffing gaps are covered efficiently.
Important note! This view is still being developed, and we’re eager for your feedback! As you begin using the Business view, please share your thoughts with us so we can continue improving it.

Staff portal - possibility to add, edit, and delete punches

In this version, we have implemented the possibility for users to add, edit, and delete punches the same way they can in the mobile apps today.

  • To manually create a new punch from the Staff portal, click the new plus icon in the Attest view.
  • To edit or delete an existing punch, click the punch in question, which opens a new side menu for editing/deleting.

This new function does not include the possibility to punch in and out, only manually adding, editing, and deleting punches. As such, this functionality follows the same "mobile and staff portal permissions" for adding, editing, and deleting punches as the mobile app does. This means that if you were able to add, edit, or delete punches in the mobile app, you can also do so in the Staff portal.

You can find more information about mobile and staff portal permissions here.

New functionality requiring configuration updates

Enhanced Dutch vacation configuration for automated leave deductions

This release introduces significant enhancements for our users using the Dutch Vacation Configuration functionality to track time balances. We've expanded the functionality to provide more granular control over how different absence (or even salary) types impact employee Statutory and Non-statutory holiday balances, supporting specific company policies and Dutch regulatory needs.

Enhanced control over statutory and non-statutory leave deductions

Previously, Quinyx used the 'First to Expire' logic for deducting leave balances. With this update, you now have the flexibility to configure specific rules that dictate how absences trigger modifications to either the statutory, non-statutory, or both holiday balances. This allows you to implement company-specific use cases and align with Dutch legal requirements more effectively.

We believe this change will bring you the following benefits:Ā

  • Better Control: Ability to define precisely how different absence types or salary types affect statutory and non-statutory balances.
  • Compliance with Dutch Regulations: Accurately manage the distinct statutory and non-statutory holiday balances.
  • Support for Custom Use Cases: Implement rules tailored to your company policies and specific leave scenarios.
  • Automation: Automate the deduction process, reducing manual intervention and potential errors later on.

Examples of Configurable Use Cases:

  • Deducting Fully from One Balance: Configure specific leave types, such as vacation time off, to be entirely deducted from the Statutory holiday balance.
  • Proportional Deductions: Set up rules for leave types like unpaid leave (e.g., sabbatical) to trigger proportional deductions from both statutory and non-statutory balances. For instance, you can configure one day (e.g. 8 hours of unpaid leave to deduct 0.62 hours from the statutory balance and 0.11 hours from the non-statutory balance. This allows for a nuanced approach to adjusting entitlements based on reduced working hours.

You can learn more here:

Please note that the "Dutch vacation" configuration article is in the process of being refined and will be fully updated before the release of version 0211.

Next Steps:

  • Refer to the detailed configuration guide to understand how to set up these new deduction rules for Statutory and Non-statutory balances.
  • Refer to the FAQs for answers to common questions regarding this new functionality.

This enhancement to the Dutch Vacation Configuration gives you more flexibility and automation in managing employee holiday entitlements in accordance with Dutch regulations and your organisation's specific needs. We encourage you to explore these new configuration options.

SOAP API / Web service updates

As communicated in the previous release notes, as of this release, we are introducing new fields in our SOAP Web Services; specifically, new fields will be added to wsdlUpdateAgreementsV2. These changes are being made in order to enable you to configure different Nominal hours setups using SOAP Web Services.

Find more details about the changes we have made in the article UpdateAgreementsV2.

WeĀ encourageĀ allĀ of ourĀ customersĀ toĀ makeĀ useĀ ofĀ our APIsĀ toĀ maintainĀ dataĀ andĀ to make sureĀ thatĀ information is up-to-date. To ensure the scalability of our APIs whileĀ growing our customer and user base, we've decided to add restrictions on the usage of our SOAP APIs. These restrictions will be enforced programmatically, which means we will enforce aĀ limit on concurrent calls per customer to 10. You should expect response code 429 if you happen to exceed this limit, and you are recommended to implement a backoff retry mechanism to handle the limit. Note that the limit applies to SOAP only. When moving from SOAP to REST over the coming years, any limits will be built into the API.Ā

Please make sure to forward this information to the party within your company responsible for integrations.
