Introducing the Quinyx Developer Portal

We've launched a dedicated developer portal at developer.quinyx.com, centralizing all integration resources in one place.

The portal includes API reference documentation, step-by-step guides, and quick-start resources for both SOAP and REST APIs. Documentation is versioned across v1, v2, and v3, so you can reference the docs that match your current implementation.

Next week and in the following weeks, we will start removing the API documentation available on HelpDocs and Swagger UI and redirect users to the new Portal.

July Quinyx Unlocked webinar

We're opening the design studio. Join us on 7 July at 16:00 CEST (10:00 EDT) for a 30-minute live session where you'll get an inside look at features currently in exploration — before they reach development.

You'll see real prototypes, weigh in on the challenges we're solving, and vote in live polls. Your input directly influences what gets built.

New functionality

Drag and drop is coming to Base Schedule

Building a base schedule just got faster. From this release, you can drag and drop shifts directly in Base schedule view - the same intuitive interaction you already know from Schedule view.

What's new

  • Move a shift: pick up a shift and drop it on another day or employee.
  • Copy a shift: hold Ctrl (Windows) or Option (Mac) while dragging to duplicate a shift instead of moving it.
  • Extend or shorten a shift: drag the edge of a shift to adjust its duration.

This brings Base schedule in line with the drag-and-drop functionality managers already rely on when building live schedules, making it quicker to set up and adjust recurring shift patterns.

Please note: as with Schedule view, drag and drop is not supported on touchscreen devices.

New Scheduling KPI: Labour percentage of sales

We have added a new Scheduling KPI: Labour percentage of sales.

This KPI helps managers compare labour cost against sales, making it easier to understand whether scheduled labour cost is in line with expected or actual revenue. It can be used when planning future schedules as well as when reviewing past performance.

With this KPI, users can compare Expected salary cost against selected sales data, such as Net sales or Gross sales. The KPI can be configured using either single data or continuous data, depending on how the customer works with actual and forecasted sales.

Users can also configure targets for the KPI, helping managers quickly understand whether labour cost is within the expected range.

What this supports

Labour % of sales supports you:

  • Compare labour cost against sales directly in the schedule
  • Use Net sales or Gross sales as the revenue basis
  • Use actual sales input data and related forecast configurations
  • Configure targets to support follow-up against expected labour percentage

Where to find it

The KPI can be created and managed from the Scheduling KPIs configuration in Optimisation. Once created, it will appear in the Scheduling KPIs table and can be shown on the Schedule page if the visibility setting is enabled.

Bug fixes

  • Resolved an issue where a shift's cost center didn't update when reassigned to a new employee during absence creation. It now correctly inherits the new employee's cost center.
  • Fixed an error preventing employees from submitting availability in the mobile app.
  • Resolved an issue where entering a negative value in the Time Tracker import tool's "Set to" operation caused the upload to fail.

We encourage all of our customers to make use of our APIs to maintain data and to make sure that information is up-to-date. To ensure the scalability of our APIs while growing our customer and user base, we've decided to add restrictions on the usage of our SOAP APIs. These restrictions will be enforced programmatically, which means we will enforce a limit on concurrent calls per customer to 10. You should expect response code 429 if you happen to exceed this limit, and you are recommended to implement a backoff retry mechanism to handle the limit. Note that the limit applies to SOAP only. When moving from SOAP to REST over the coming years, any limits will be built into the API.
